Information for all the Swislive regulars regarding the activity of the past 12 hours.
As of about 10am the 24 June, we were ‘invaded’ by an application known as Stumbleupon.
This application acts like a search engine whereby users can go to 1000’s of web sites that Stumbleupon picks for them based on their personal preferences.
Due to this, Swislive has been inundated with people (and I am serious, they are real people) who have been led to our website.
This in turn has meant that the chatroom has been disrupted and normal chat has been nearly impossible to continue.
We have sent a request to Stumbleupon to get some help and an idea of whether this can be stopped. At this time we are working very hard to fix this issue ourselves.
All we can do at the moment is ask all the Swislive regulars to please bear with us and hopefully we will get the room back to the good old times soon. |

Not a very accurate description of this service!
StumbleUpon is a website where the registered uses share there favorite web sites with other registered users. below is a description of the service they offer there users taken directly from the StumbleUpon website.

I wish to apologize to swis live users for the inconvenience caused by me adding SwisLive to the stumble database but would also like to point out it has been rated by 4 othere users appart from me! Quite why my review caused such a rush of users to Swis Live i dont know, perhapse the review i gave was too good!
I have disabled links from my page on stumble to swis live and the swislive my space profile! but as the url was already in their system i am unable to remove the links from the database! That can only be done by the person who originaly posted the site there back in March.
So im sorry if this disrupted the chat room, i was simply listing one of my favorite sites on a service designed to share the internets better content.
After all it did increase the hit count right?

IF OUR ROOM WAS SET AS VIEW ONLY AND THERE WERE NO CHAT IT WOULD BE AWESOME ADE, BUT WE DO HAVE CHAT WITH REGULAR PEOPLE THAT COME IN EVERY DAY FOR A VISIT. 6500 HITS AND 2250 STARTS IN 24 HOURS IS A BIT MUCH TO TRY AND DEAL WITH. I KNOW YOUR INTENSIONS WERE SINCERE AND I APPRECIATE YOU THINKING OF US.

TY ROB, I AGREE, IF THERE JUST CAM IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE.

| Stumble upon is NOT an Application. It is a website similar to MYSPACE with google added in. |
